Finally another Japanese classic coming to Funko Pop in August! Rokkuman! Rock Man! Or Mega Man as we all know. I grew up on the Mega Man series as a kid, so these definitely have a special place in my heart. I do enjoy Mega Man X and X2 for some of it’s game features. Also it’s not as difficult as say like Mega Man 3, which I always have an issue with. Mega Man x has diverse bosses and the optional power-up chamber you can always go back to. I definitely like replaying levels again, instead of once you play through a level you’re done.

Even people who have never played Mega Man will usually recognize him. There was an animated series, manga, and a whole array of video games that Mega Man was featured in. Let’s take a look at which Funko Pop they decided to make along with Mega Man.

I am really glad they decided to get the protagonists out first before adding a the antagonists, aside from Dr. Wily of course. You can’t have Mega Man without the need to destroy Dr. Wily ‘s evil robots. I definitely want to get the Rush Funko POP along with Mega Man. I thought it was interesting that they chose to make Mega Man’s older brother Proto Man over say… a Funko of Bomb Man or Blizzard Man. Like I said before, I am glad they decided to make the protagonists. I wonder if they will ever make Dr. Light… We will see!

I don’t think I’ve mentioned my chaotic household before. I have three incredibly unique cats who drive me absolutely nuts, but can melt my heart in a second. It’s the eyes! In any case, I’ve always grown up with cats. My love for Japan and cats pretty much go hand in hand. When I first saw Pusheen a long, long time ago I had to get the book. My cats are pretty much doing everything with me, from cooking, working, and even showering sometimes. Pusheen is always on an adventure, so are my cats. I wanted to show you guys my top five Pusheen plushies mostly for it’s cuteness, but also how it relates to my cats personally.

When I saw the “Mythical Kitties” cartoon, I kind of died. I definitely love this Pusheenicorn plush because all my evil children think they are glamorous. I also LOVE rainbows! I would really love to see all of the Mythical Kitties come to life as a plush. I am going to get them all, especially that mermaid. I think a Merpusheen would be awesome in many colors! Please happen!

I have a story as to why ice cream Pusheen is on my top five list. My childhood kitty, Rogue, died almost a year ago. It was devastating, but it’s a natural cycle of life and she was 17! She was the queen of the world as far as she knew. Anyway, my sister used to let her have like a few licks of her ice cream. It became such a habit that anytime we would open the freezer, Rogue would come running and begging for ice cream! She had the Puss and Boots stare, so of course we couldn’t resist. Not only is this Pusheen really cute, but it definitely invokes a lot of great memories for me.

I love this Pusheen with donut plush because he is holding my favorite kind of donut! I’m not supposed to have them, but if I do, regretfully, I will always pick Top Pot’s Pink Rainbow donut. There’s a reason why Pusheen is such an adorable chunk! He obviously doesn’t care, that donut is definitely the happiest thing in the entire world. I might have to agree on that.

Don’t you feel like cats are like cute little dinosaurs? The DinoPusheen plush is on my list, not only for how cute it is, but also it reminds me of another one of my crazy cats. Bubba, my Mainecoon, looks all fat and cute. Then when he reels you in with his cuteness, he is instaevil. It reminds me of this Pusheen plush! My cats even stomp around upstairs like there’s a T-Rex living upstairs! Do any of your pets do that? I also have a thing for dinosaurs, I love them!

Classic Pusheen is honestly my favorite. I can always think about all the stories attached to normal Pusheen, because it’s hard to pick from all the different hobbies and creatures. I definitely would love an art pusheen plush, but that’s because I’m an art nerd.

I feel like I haven’t really been on the ball lately. There are so many Funko Pop! that come out almost weekly. I have to bookmark their blog! I have just discovered these San X characters from Sentimental Circus… Here’s a peek at who they are and what they do. They’re just too cute!

I really enjoy Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Who doesn’t!? I think they have a bunch of unique characters in the books and I love all the different versions they have. Japan also loves the story of Alice and her adventures in Wonderland. San X has a bunch of adorable items on Amazon of Sentimental Circus doing their version of Alice in Wonderland.

I’ve given so many of my reusable bags away thinking I had this massive amount, now I don’t have any! This Mini Tote Bag is SO CUTE! It’s not big enough to go grocery shopping, but I can definitely use it for travel!

If I bought the tote above, then I could drag this Sentimental Circus Notebook with me! Since I enjoy writing, I go through notebooks ridiculously fast. The cover is awesome! I love how they feature the mad tea party! It’s the most adorable version I’ve ever seen I think.

Have you ever seen the White Rabbit look so stupidly precious? It’s too much… I love that they kept the original design of his smock and clock! It’s like a combination of Disney and kawaii, it’s too much for me to handle.

These Sentimental Circus stickers show different scenes from Alice’s adventures. I can see the Queen of Hearts, the beginning of the story where she falls down the rabbit hole, and the Cheshire Cat!

Honestly, I would never expect this to be a reel ID pass case. It’s too plushy and cute – a little deceiving. I really feel like someone would more likely steal this from me than a normal wallet! This is a great way to display your San X pride!

Now this Sentimental Circus Book Coin & ID Pass Case is something I would get. It looks like if you opened it, it would open up to a magical world. I really like it! I also love the fact it comes with a chain! It makes keeping track of it so easy!

This is a great way to display your San X pride! The hanging toy chain would be great to have on a chain for a spare key to your house or car. I don’t think anyone can argue that this is the most adorable Mad Hatter they’ve ever seen.

I love Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and San-X characters. I’m surprised I’ve never even seen this before, but it is fairly new! I absolutely love Japanese candy. I don’t know why we can’t get on top of the candy business and create all these awesome flavors like Japan can! Lucky for us Amazon exists. I’m even more lucky because in Seattle, there are plenty of Asian markets filled with these things! My best friend just moved to Montana and she can’t find these at any local markets. Clearly you need to have at least one box of pocky in your cabinet. I wish I didn’t have celiac, because I miss pocky. Strawberry pocky in particular was one of my favorite flavors!

I used to snack on these Hello Panda sweets all the time. They remind me of a condensed pocky – so good! The panda prints on each cookie make them extra adorable. If you haven’t had these before, but love pocky, try it!

If you’re looking for a candy packed full of strawberry flavor, these Kasugai strawberry gummy candies will do the job. I have a hard time stopping myself from eating the whole bag honestly. Kasugai has a ton of other flavors as well. They are all very, very tasty!

I have never tried these Meltykiss Strawberry chocolates before. If they are made by the same people who make Hello Panda, then I am sure they are good. I can already imagine the little cubes melting in my mouth. I’m getting hungry now…

Wouldn’t you want to use these Meiji Apollo Strawberry Chocolates in a sundae? I wonder if they could be used as chocolate chips! I really love the shape of these. They look like little parasols – so cute.

I have a weakness for milk candy. These Sakuma Strawberry Milk Candy reminds me of being a kid again. I used to love Nestle strawberry milk and would drink it virtually everyday. Now my adult tummy is super wimpy and milk makes me sick! I can still get my fix with these little candies.

Today is a special day in Japan called Children’s Day. This is the last day during Golden Week, which is really important in Japan. Children’s Day used to exclusively celebrate boyhood (or just males), just like Hinamatsuri (Doll Day) previously only celebrated girlhood. Now this day is used to recognize both boys and girls, fathers and mothers. It is now called Kodomo no Hi, Children’s Day.

What they do is fly Koinobori, or cloth carp streamers to represent each child in the household. The carp are supposed to bring good luck and fortune to the children. They want them to be strong just like how the koi fish is when fighting upstream. In an old Chinese legend there is a carp that travels upstream then becomes a dragon. That actually represents childhood in a nutshell it seems. Life can be like this crazy upward battle. In the end, the hope is that you become powerful, like a dragon!

Maybe you didn’t know about Children’s Day until today. I, frankly, love this idea and the symbolism is wonderful. Not only that, but I’ve always wanted to purchase some carp streamers for my house, so today is my chance! There are lots of color options for carp streamers on Amazon.

Some families sometimes will display a kabuto (Samurai helmet). This is mostly traditional and symbolizes strength and vitality. Not only will the helmet be displayed but sometimes samurai dolls. Similar to Doll Day, but more male oriented. Lot’s of these dolls come from old folktales in Japan, also symbolizing strength.

Other things that are done is consume rice cakes stuffed with sweet bean paste. It’s wrapped in a oak leaf. Oh yum! This is supposed to promote strength. Iris’s are placed throughout the house and around to ward off evil. Some families have their kids bathe with Iris leaves, that’s traditional.

I’m hoping to find a bunch of sales today! If you couldn’t tell, I’m a pretty big Star Wars dweeb. I am kind of on a mission to find the perfect SOMETHING to add to my collection of things. I realize I actually don’t have a whole lot of Kitchen items that are Star Wars themed. It’s time to change that!

Believe it or not, these are chopsticks! You can get red light saber Darth Vader chopsticks or Luke’s green light saber chopsticks. I can imagine a huge mess if I had kids… Not that I wouldn’t end up playing with my food. I think these are so awesome! And they come in a so many colors!

I am in love with this set of Star Wars Bento Boxes. The random movie quotes are definitely my favorite feature. Of course, my favorite has to be “R2, where have you been?” I actually giggled when I saw the “Beep!” at the end.

I know that I would keep these Star Wars kokeshi dolls out all year. I wanted to show them all, but you can get each of them separately as well, but why would you want to?! If I had to decide, I would get the robots. Just because, my boyfriend is the C-3PO to my R2-D2… Yes that just happened. This isn’t a kitchen gadget, but I love the idea of decorating my kitchen with these!

Okay, this is just spectacular. When I cook in the kitchen I always bring my tablet with me and I always make a mess. I hate that Star Wars Day is in the middle of the week this year. It’s up to you if you want to stay up all night and watch all the movies, I just don’t have that much endurance! I think later on in the week it should be okay to have a binge watching party, so I have some ideas for food that you might enjoy. (Or even for next year!)

I thought this would be a fun party idea. The Star Wars Bikkuriman Chocolate come with stickers in each packet. It would be fun to make a trading game out of it! Even if the chocolates aren’t good, those stickers are unique and strictly Japanese.

These decorations are really amazing. AMAZING is an understatement for how truly brilliant this is. There’s just no way I could fathom getting these for myself. I really, really wish I could!

For hardcore Star Wars fans, these Star Wars Woodblock Prints on Ebay are absolutely fantastic. They are one of a kind too. I am about to cry… they are so cool!

Today is the day where Disney releases Star Wars: The Force Awakens tsum tsum collection in Japan. They will come to the US on June 21st, but you can always get the Star Wars classics on Amazon!

Last, but not least are these Samurai “Star Wars” Action Figures. I literally had to drag myself away from these models at Emerald City Comic Con. Artistically they are stunning! I love Darth Vader’s outfit in particular. The Death Star crest on his helm is pretty spectacular. I want to decorate my house with these!

Everything comes full circle. The Star Wars story and traditional Samurai are so complementary. I love a Japanese touch on my Star Wars stuff. Does anyone else feel like this looks is like a contemporary realistic painting? This Totoro umbrella pillow cover is pretty hilarious. Totoro looks very dumbfounded. I would too if I was being shadowed by a little girl all day. The hue is a little dark for my taste, but it’s still imaginative.

My first thought when I saw the spring time Totoro pillow cover is that it looks like a rice bag! The texture of the cotton linen is what made me think of it. Wouldn’t it be so cool to have Totoro rice? Any food inspired by Miyazaki would be wonderful.
